Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
At first I was convinced Jack Frost was dead. I mean we had NO snow for such a long time! It has been very frustrating. Well, after this past week of some snow I can now see that Jack is indeed alive. Where have you been Jack? huh? Now you just show up and start doing your job after about two months of being a total slacker! Well, some people may forgive you just because they are happy we finally got snow..Well not me mister. You better start making it up to me! Not only lots ore snow this year but next year it better be blizzard central!
On a more serious and non-fictional note: I WANT SNOW!!! I want feet and feet of snow. I want to make snow angels and snowmen. I want to go sled riding down the Dam hill and Grandmas famous cow patty hill- never knowing when you’ll hit those ice covered natural ramps. I want to wake up to a brightly lit room and look out my window to see snow falling form the sky and acres of untouched, footprint free fields. I want to build snow forts and have a snowball fight. I want to build an igloo!! I want to feel like a kid on an unexpected snow day. I want to be happy and care free. Snow would certainly help! I’m very demanding aren’t I…
The lack of snow has just made my yearning for it stronger than ever. Everyday I am rushed with all these glorious snow filled memories from my past. They are mocking me because they know I can not re-create this winter. I have so many amazing memories that I would give so much to experience again.
My Favorite Snow- filled Memories:
~ Sled riding down the Dam hill for Physics class- Scary at first! And even painful! But only when you have Laura Horn using you as a sled halfway down the hill and only if you hit that ditch at the bottom. I was in so much pain at first I couldn’t even get up. But no permanent injuries and I got over it and had oh so much fun!!
~ Everlasting snow days and igloo building- When I was in Elementary school (probably 4th-6th grade) there was one winter when we had so much snow they cancelled school for about a whole week and I stayed at my Lauren and Twila’s house every night. We would spend night in their kitchen listening to the radio just hoping to hear our school being cancelled. We spent a week making forts in their house and playing in the snow. The best part though was the igloo we made. They would have their long drive way snowplowed and there would be huge, huge piles of snow. So we took one of the piles, poured water on the top, and took turns digging out the middle. Ross, Patrick, Lauren, Twila, Katherine, and me all built this amazing igloo. It was huge and could fit all of us inside. It didn’t even melt all the way for many weeks after. sweet!
~ Senior Year Snow Day- My senior year of high school there was this one day when it was snowing like crazy and apparently it was getting really dangerous. So they cancelled school while we were still there. They sent us all home! It was nuts! They told us about an hour before they were going to let us go home..so people were going CRAZY!!! How could you expect us to continue on with class when we were being sent home because of snow !!! There were people running around the halls, playing outside in the snow. I made snow angels with Tiffie in my jeans. lol. And when they let us go home there was a massive snow ball fight in the parking lot. It was just so so much fun!!!
Please mister Jack Frost. Please bring me more snow!!!

I got the privilege of sled riding "cow patty hill" just last week, with Will Henley and my little buddy Draven. It was quite painful though, because Mr Jack has been slacking! I hit a frozen pile traveling at a very hight rate of speed! It was still a blast. I think as we get older we feel pain much easier than when we were young. Like for some reason I used to be able to run across the stones in my bare feet. Now days, I wouldn't even attempt it.
I'm hoping for a blizzard too!

Yay for snow! Remember when the snow would pack on that huge bush we used to have in our backyard and we could climb to the top and often fall into the bottom?! AND we could crawl all the way around our house on top of those big ugly bushes?! Sometimes I miss the old house...

that's awesome Josh!! yeah..no kidding! I used to be able to run across stones too..and go down cow patty hill without even thinking about how much pain it caused me. I miss being younger...

YES!! Those bushes were awesome!!! I miss the old house all the time. Like our playdough shack and the pump and stones that we used to chalk on. Like, one would always be underpants and one would always be the United States. haha. Good times...

Golly, I'm sorry - I didn't know you girls had such fond memories of our back yard before I started making all the "improvements"...

of course we do! But the new improved house is fabulous and has it's own wonderful memories too. :)
